	GreenGuard® GreenGuard® is a certification given to products by the GreenGuard Environmental Institute. GEI is an non profit organization formed as an independent thatoversees the certification of products. They rate acceptable indoor air quality standards for indoor products. Their mission is to improve public health and quality of life through programs that improve air quality. GEI acts as an industry-independent, third party testing program. The GreenGuard® certification gives homeowners comfort that the product they are putting into their home is not releasing harmful chemicals into the air.  This certification does not mean that the process of making the product is green friendly nor does it mean that the company  making the product participates in green practices, although some companies are making efforts to use recycled content in  newer designs of their products.
